“It was a wonderful experience. Chris and Lauren are kind, generous, and down-to-earth people who hit the right balance in demonstrating, advising, and allowing time and space to work it through. I learnt a lot in the four days I was there, from proper and thorough preparation, techniques and tool use, new shapes and forms, speeding up, continuity of form, and finally throwing a bowl of 10.5 lbs!”

Justine Seymour
“Teaching was first class, and very directed to learners needs. We covered a wide range of topics, throwing taller and wider and aiming for consistency, and trying out different shapes. Chris and Lauren were extremely friendly and welcoming and provided an excellent lunch every day. Would highly recommend and would attend again!”

Louise Riley
“The tuition from Lauren and Chris, who have spent decades working with clay, and clearly still have a passion for it, means you get a huge leap forward in learning and making. I was amazed by what we, as a group of beginners, were able to make. And the lunches are great too.”

Paul Brookes
“Chris enabled all of us to progress and extend our throwing skills beyond our comfort zones in a gentle , informative and natural way, a way that only happens when someone truly knows their craft and are equally able to share it. “

Sharon
“The craic is always great, Chris and Lauren are amazing potters, brilliant hosts and always great fun. The grounds are beautiful and if you need to travel, accommodation (The Holiday Inn) is easy and just a 5 minute walk from the studio. I’ll definitely be back.”

Sue Cummins
“Absolutely brilliant pottery workshop with lessons for complete beginners through to those with more experience. Excellent tuition, very relaxed, beautiful space.”

Hannah Smith
“Just completed the 3 Day pottery course and I loved every minute. Chris and Lauren are such talented, kind and approachable tutors. I achieved more than I thought possible in an environment that supported my efforts and encouraged me to exceed my expectations. I would without reservation recommend Clay Works Studios to anyone wanting to learn more about pottery and enhance their skills. if I can do it, anyone can do it! I will definitely be booking another course soon Xx” Iraina McGroarty
